The Veterans Business Network (VBN) is a non-profit organization that advocates for inclusion of Veteran Business Enterprises in public and private sector supply chain opportunities and acts as a clearinghouse for connecting corporations with viable veteran business advocacy groups. VBN presented at the recent ISM national convention in Phoenix Arizona on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015.
The Veterans Business Network (VBN) participated at the recent Institute of Supply Management 2015 annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona. Ron Washington, Acting National Executive Director of VBN will presented a workshop on Tuesday, May 5th. The topic of the learning session was “From Service to Supply Chain” and examines the importance of Veteran businesses in broad supplier inclusion strategies.
“We’re honored to present at the ISM 2015 annual conference and expand awareness about the growing number veteran business enterprises in the U.S. and issues impacting their growth,” said Washington. “ISM is the premier organization for supply chain professionals driving the purchasing strategies for the nation’s largest companies. We look forward to expanding awareness about the veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) entrepreneurial experience and the value offering they bring to committed corporations.”
VBN is a national non-profit organization that was founded in 2008 in Las Vegas. They perform a valuable function serving as advocates for Veteran Business inclusion in private and public sector contract opportunities. Their signature outreach is training, sourcing assistance for corporations and validation of Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran through their certification process. Certification for Veteran Businesses is free for Veterans and Service Disabled Veterans interested in validating their service, ownership and operational control status.
